College-Age Pastors – AJ & Quinn Swoboda

AJ and Quinn work and live in Eugene, Oregon at the Onyx House with the people they love and serve. Quinn serves as a room shepherd for the Faith Center children and loves to pour her heart out into the kids. She is also a great house mother to the students at the Onyx House and is an amazing ‘crafter.’ AJ is working on his PhD in Pentecostal Theology at the University of Birmingham (England), doing work on the relationship of Holy Spirit and Ecology, and how the two meet. On top of that, he is an adjunct professor at George Fox Seminary in Portland, Oregon (www.georgefox.edu). Both AJ and Quinn graduated from Eugene Bible College and AJ did his masters degree in Biblical Studies at George Fox where he teaches. They both also drink coffee, watch ‘the Office’ on Thursday nights, and like to skate.

Senior Pastors at Eugene Faith Center – Steve and Tana Overman

Steve came to the Eugene Faith Center staff in 1975 as the college-age pastor while still a student at the University of Oregon. After completing work on a masters degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in 1983, he returned to our staff as Executive Pastor under Roy Hicks, Jr. He then assumed leadership as our Senior Pastor in 1988 when Roy left Eugene to serve as Director of Missions for our denomination. Steve and his wife Tana are the parents of Haley, Shannon and Reid.

College-Age Compass Team

This is the team that makes it all happen. Whether it setting up chairs, making lattes, or helping people experience relationship with God, this team does it all. Made up of people such as baristas, cooks, students, or fraternity secretaries, all different walks of life converge to serve God together to make the ministry at the Onyx House a vital part of our community.
